VAE designed a simple, robust, yet effective system that allowed appropriate fresh air quantities to be treated for the 200+ guests expected to utilise the centre.
Considering Lae’s hot, humid climate the challenge for VAE was maintaining energy efficiency in the design. VAE’s Automation team implemented their Distech BMS control system which was developed for the close control required of this system, resulting in the energy efficiency expected.
Detailed design made use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) software to meet client’s needs, which also provided opportunity for prefabrication of plant in modular form offsite. Modular design and construction enabled containerised shipment, with installation by VAE Ex-pats in conjunction with local Papua New Guinean workers.
