Joint kitchen facilities provided a challenge for the design of smoke exhaust systems as did integration with the evacuation system.The air conditioning system was designed to encourage students to save power and feel part of the community.

Using the existing services for infrastructure, construction costs were minimised through innovative design and construction programming.
