VAE came to Queensland Rail’s attention in 2014 when we provided the air conditioning and ventilation systems at the new operations centre at Bowen Hills. Whilst our contract was with Badge Group, Queensland Rail personnel were often on site and were impressed by VAE’s attention to detail, particularly with respect to safety. Because the maintenance of plant and equipment for Queensland Rail is often in close proximity to fast moving trains, safety is paramount for everyone involved.
Queensland Rail engaged VAE to take on the challenge of removing and overhauling several large tunnel exhaust fans with a keen focus on safety while executing the work. Following the success of this operation, VAE were awarded numerous contracts for the upgrade of equipment, many of which were on a design and construct basis.
VAE has developed a strong relationship with Queensland Rail because of our ability to engineer, construct and then maintain a variety of systems. Our ability to see the big picture and offer safer, more efficient life cycle options when upgrading obsolete systems sets us apart.
We have a dedicated team that works solely on our Queensland Rail projects. That team consists of an engineer, project manager and service technicians. Monthly meetings between our dedicated team and the client allow for close monitoring of activities as well as programming of larger future projects.
