National Safe Work Month - Cairns Office

In celebration of National Work Safe Month in October, we collaborated with our key client and new landlord, North Queensland Airports, to host the Australian Airports Association - Airport Safety Week. The theme for 2023 was 'Safety and Sustainability.' During this event, VAE Group was honoured to receive an invitation to participate and subsequently hosted a luncheon for 12 stakeholders from Cairns Airport at our newly established office in Aeroglen, Cairns.

During the luncheon, Evan Jappy, VAE Group’s Senior Business Development Manager, captivated our guests with a presentation on our energy saving initiatives that have been designed into our new offices, as well as a demonstration of Bitpool Monitoring and NABERS goal setting.

Our Cairns HSEQ Advisor, Greg Foster addressed the team on environmental initiatives as part of our process of seeking accreditation for ISO 14001 for Environmental Management Systems. Our branch initiatives for 2024 include:

  1. Enhancing employee awareness of environmental care and protection (based on the 'all rivers lead to the reef' philosophy)
  2. Reducing the usage of potentially harmful products
  3. Managing substances that could be detrimental to the environment responsibly

Our ultimate goal is to create a sustainable and ecologically responsible workplace.
