Kmart Tweed City – Plant Upgrade

VAE Group were engaged to replace the existing DX Air Conditioning system serving the Tweed City Kmart tenancy. The new Chilled Water plant consists of a new chiller, new air handling unit chilled water coils to replace the DX coils, and refurbishment of existing AHU’s to “as new” condition. The project was designed and documented by Ford Consulting Pty Ltd for Tweed City Shopping Centre.

VAE removed the existing AHU’s coils and DX plant, and installed a 700kw Smardt Water Cooled Chiller, two new Cooling Towers, pumps and a 3,000L Chilled Water Storage Tank as well as the associated pipework and the new chilled water coils for the existing Air Handling Units.

We also installed a new MSSB (Mechanical Services Switch Board) and Tridium Building Management System (BMS).

Works were completed in stages, in a live retail environment, with minimal planned disruption to operations. VAE worked after hours for rigging and cranage of new and existing plant to ensure the safety of the public and Kmart staff.
